The 21 precepts (rules of conduct) in the book are common to all peoples across the world. These guidelines can be agreed upon by anyone, anywhere.
The Way to Happiness reminds people that there are basic agreements that we all hold, regardless of nation, group or culture – and so creates understanding between all. These basic agreements are what bind man together and enable us to live in peace and so survive better, not only as individuals but as mankind.
